About this tool

Give a merged or assembled document proper page numbers. Each number is placed centred at the bottom of its page, and you can start from any value, which is useful when the file is one part of a larger set.

How to use it

  1. Drop one PDF.
  2. Set the starting number. Leave it at 1 for a normal document.
  3. Click Number pages and download the result.

Questions

Can I start numbering from a page other than the first?

Numbering covers every page. To number only a section, split the file, number that part with the right starting value, then merge.

Will numbers overlap my existing footer?

They sit close to the bottom edge. If your pages already carry footers near the edge, check one page after numbering.

Does this change the page content?

It adds a small text element to each page and leaves everything else as it was.
